If you are a new player and do not have a codename.
Please fill out and send the request
form on the Login page (your name and e-mail) or just send
an e-mail message to vadim@media.mit.edu.
Your Score.
Each new player will get $1024. He/She may use it to make bets or buy an ad
space and time on the News Totalizator pages. It will also be possible to rent
a place in the Best Players table. You can get many points if your bets are
right. Players will receive participation bonus $10 every day if they login to the
game first time during the day.
How to lay a bet?
On the "Make your bet!" page choose a subject (weather, sports, politics, or miscellaneous).
Then choose an event you want to lay a bet on. Enter the amount of your bet
in the bet field. If you want to bet against the event enter a negative number.
The absolute value of your bet will be subtracted from your current score.
If you would like to offer your own event, just fill in the form in the end of
betting page. Do not forget to set
the event expiration date in the form. Expiration date is the date when
the event disappears from its section, so that no one can bet for/against
it after that.
Expiration date may be different from the expected date of event.
Score Calculation.
The game moderator will decide whether or not the event did happen by the day after
the expiration date.
If your guess about an event is correct you score will be increased by
Y+W*Y/T points, where W is total amount of wrong-guess bets, Y is your bet, and
T is total amount of right-guess bets.
If you guess is wrong you score will not change.
If it is impossible to determine whether or not the event did happen then all players
will get their bets on that event back.
